Simple appetizer?
Any suggestions for a simple appetizer? We are traveling an hour Sunday to my niece's Christening, then go back to the house. My sister-in-law is having cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, deviled eggs, a sub and wraps. I'd like to bring an appetizer, something that can be cold, room temperature or microwaved? What's your favorites? Thanks in advance for sharing.

I love artichoke dip, I have one that is good heated in the microwave.
ReplyDeleteI also had a ruben one that was great. Served on mini pumpernickel bread.
That one could be heated in a microwave and then keep it warm in a small or large crock pot. I'll post the actual recipes later.
For a simple, cold and beautiful appetizer, I always like caprese sticks -- fresh mozz balls, basil leaves and cherry tomatoes on a toothpick or skewer.
ReplyDeleteOr the crabmeat dip?
ReplyDeleteThanks Reg, I made the caprese sticks -- fresh mozz balls, cherry tomatoes on a toothpick and I served them with a pesto dipping sauce, they were a huge hit, especially as there were several vegetarians and people with wheat allergies. I also made Cocktail Meatballs in the Crockpot (thanks Stacy for the recipe). They were yummy and easy as always.
ReplyDelete1 jar Chili Sauce
1 can whole Cranberry sauce
small meatballs of your choice
I just throw it all in the crockpot and heat through.
This will sounds silly but how do you do the fresh mozz into balls? I need a app for sunday and have lots of cherry tomatoes and fresh basil in my garden.
