We share recipes and ask and answer questions from “How do you feed your family at night when you don’t walk in the door until 5:30 and you have a soccer game at 6 and piano lessons at 6:15 ... on opposite ends of town?” to “What’s your Thanksgiving menu this year?” to “Remember that punch you made at Christmas? What was the recipe?” So come on in to our virtual dinner group, pour yourself a glass of wine, and let’s start cooking together.
If we are talking Chocolate. The recipe Katie made for Jude's 10th birthday. It is not simple but nor is it difficult. And it is based on a book, Mom will love that, http://inhomecooking.blogspot.com/2008/09/back-by-request.html In fact thatnks for the reminder I might make it for book club here next week.
ReplyDeleteThanks always for being so good to her.
I did this in cake form (as a sorting hat) for Brendan's birthday. Delish! Haven't tried the cupcakes yet, but am dying to. Are you going to see her this weekend?

Mom also appreciates a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. I mentioned I made that for Evan's birthday and she said, "Oh, my favorite!"
ReplyDeleteI used two mixes and made a 3-layer cake, it looked impressive.
Eio, do you want Mom to go into Cardiac Arrest. 12 T of butter, plus cream!!
ReplyDeleteI would presume she will not be eating the ENTIRE thing and that there are not 12 T butter in ONE serving...
ReplyDeleteKate, I might go with the yellow cake with homemade chocolate icing. Then dad and I will enjoy a piece also:)
